This month it’s got to be the striking Euphorbia characias subsp. wulfenii. This upright evergreen euphorbia, a favourite of Gertrude Jekyll, has strong stems of glaucous leaves contrasted by huge heads of radiant chartreuse-green flowers from March to May.
