As summer kicks in our June plant of the month is Convolvulus Cneorum, or Shrubby Bindweed. Flowering from May to July (and longer) this Mediterranean plant is sure to brighten a sunny garden. The flowers start as twisted pink buds and then open into proud trumpets of white petals with yellow centres. The evergreen foliage is covered in tiny grey hairs which give it a silky silver look, adding interest throughout the year. When in flower you’ll notice the blooms open and close depending on the light conditions. The bees also love them…as if you need any more reasons to plant one in your garden!
